Here is your quick guide to sport climbing in the Paris 2024 Olympics including when it starts, where to watch and who’s competing.

Sport Climbing debuted at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, which actually took place in 2021 due to the pandemic. Shauna Coxsey was the only athlete who qualified to compete in the 2020 games as part of Team GB and climbed in the three sport climbing disciplines (lead / speed / boulder) which all athletes were required to compete in.

Has anything changed since then?

At Paris 2024, the sport climbing competition format has changed to reflect what is more common-place in the wider competition climbing scene, with athletes competing lead and boulder combined and a separate speed climbing competition.

Where can I watch the climbing?

Throughout the Games, the BBC will have the choice of a network TV channel and a second broadcast stream, Olympics™ Extra, (available on the iPlayer and Red Button).

Broadcaster Discovery+ is the rights holder showing every moment of the Games in the UK.

The Discovery+ app and Eurosport channels will air more than 3,800 hours of live coverage in total from 07:00 to 22:30 BST each day. Discovery+ and Eurosport requires a subscription.
